Studi Cacat Batang pada Produksi Kayu Jati = Study of Trunk Defect of Teak Log Production

ABSTRACT. This study examined defects commonly encountered on teak logs. Defects are grouped into three categories, i.e. totaly hole, partial hole and minor defect. The study was conducted at three log collection center (TPK) in Cepu TPK Batokan, TPK Pasar Sore and TPK Cabak. Results showed that the average (%) of actual Hole Volume (HV) and Correction Value (CV) of mixed teak logs of three locations, were 18.28% (0.01-46.52%) and 0.82 (0.54-0.99). HV and CV values for were the partly holes grove of teak logs of those three locations 6.65% (0.01-23.82%) and 0.94 (0.76-0.99). The minor defect group of teak logs possessed HV and CK respectively 1.77% (0.06-14.86%) and 0.98 (0.85-0.99).

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi akibat pengaruh keberadaan cacat pada batang hasil produksi kayu jati, terdiri dari gerowong total (GT), gerowong sebagian (GS) maupun cacat kecil (CK). Penelitian dilakukan di Cepu yaitu di TPK Batokan, TPK Pasar Sore, dan TPK Cabak. Rata-rata persentase gerowong dan AK volume aktual campuran kayu bundar jati GT pada tiga lokasi tersebut, berturut-turut 18.28% (0.01-46.52%) dan 0.82 (0.54-0.99). Berarti untuk setiap 1 m3 campuran kayu bundar jati gerowong tembus memiliki VG = 0.18 m3 (0.01-0.47 m3), dengan AK volume aktual = 0.82 (0.54-0.99 m3) per m3. Untuk campuran kayu bundar jati GS, nilai VG dan AK berturut-turut 6.65% (0.01-23.82%) dan 0.94 (0.76-0.99) sehingga setiap 1 m3 campuran kayu bundar jati gerowong tersebut memiliki GS sebesar 0.06 m3 (0.0001-0.24 m3), dan AK untuk setiap 1 m3 terdapat volume aktual = 0.94 (0.76-0.99 m3). Untuk campuran kayu bundar jati CK berturut-turut 1.77% (0.06-14.86%) dan 0.98 (0.85-0.99), yang berarti untuk setiap 1 m3 campuran kayu bundar jati gerowong tersebut memiliki GS 0.02 m3 (0.0006-0.15 m3), dengan AK untuk setiap 1 m3 terdapat volume aktual = 0.98 (0.85-0.99 m3).
