Pertumbuhan jenis pohon Khaya anthotheca di Jawa Baraaaat
Khaya anthotheca is an exotic species which is known under the trade name of 'African mahagony' since its introduction to Indonesia, especially in West Java : K. anthotheca has become popular, because it grows very fast. The research of K. anthotheca growth was conducted to evaluate, formulate growth model and examine sites conditions of K. anthotheca in six experimental gardens in West Java (KP Cikampek, KP. Carit, KP. Cikole, KP. Pasirhantap, KP. Yanlappa dan KP. Pasirawi). The result show that the sites condition are favourable to promote the growth of K. anthotheca. The growth model of prodan (1968) is the best model for K. anthotheca. The favorable environmental factors of K. anthotheca in West Java are climate type A, B and C altitude : 50 - 650 m above sea level, average rain fall 1800 - 3000 mm/year, sooil types : latosol, Aluvial and andosol.
