Studi status kelangkaan jenis pohon dari famili dipterocarpaceae di hutan lindung Sungai Wain, Kalimantan Timur
A study carried out in the protection forest of Sungai Wain, East Kalimantan. This study was conducted on August 2000 and stratified technique sampling method was applied. The total sampling areas, consisted of five collective sampling, covering an area 1000m in length and 20 m in width. In this study, 13 species were founded, e.g. Shorea leavis, Shorea smithiana, Shorea ovalis, Shorea parvifolia, Shorea lamellata, Shorrrea leprosula, Dipterocarpus cornutus, Shorea paarvistifulata, Vatica pauciflora, Hopea mengarawan, Vatica umbulata, Dipterocarpus confertus and Cotylobium melanoxylon. Dominant tree species in Sungai Wain protection forest area Shorea leavis with impportant value index (157.82 percent), Dipterocarpus confertus (IVI = 32.42 percent) and Dipterocarpus cornutus (IVI = 29.82 percent). Hopea mengrawan and Vatica pauciflora were rare species category critically and endangered.
