Pengendalian penyakit layu bakteri pada bibit jati menggunakan bakteri antagonis Pseudomonas fluorescens
Bacterial wilt caused by Pseudomonas tectonae is an important disease that are commonly found attacking teak seedling in nursery and a young plaaant in the field. This phenomenon causes the in availability of the seedling and becomes a limitation to increasing teak seedling stocks. P. tectonae is a soil borne bacterial pathogen and infects the seedling through roots or stems. then the plant will die in a relatively short time. Some methods of controls have been applied such as eradication, organic matter treatment and the use bactericide. Recently, a biological control using an antaaagonistic bacteria, Pseudomonas fluorescens, haas been applied to improve the control method of P. tectonae. The aim of this study was to understand the effectivity of P. fluorescens in suppressing the disease. The results shows that the antagonistic bacterria of P. fluorescens increased the seedling growth from 70 percent to 100 percent. It could also increase the height and diameter of seedlings from 10.43 - 16.37 cm and 2.41 - 2.72 mm, respectively.
