Pengaruh intensitas cahaya dan pemupukan terhadap pertumbuhan bibit cempaka hutan (Ermerillia ovalis)

Ermerillia ovalis is one of the local priority species in South Sulawesi. Cultivation is one of the problems in plantation of this species. The information of E. ovalis cultivation is still limitted. The purpose of the experiment is to evaluate the effect of light intensity and fertilizer on the growth of forest cempaka seedling. Research on the seedling quality of E. ovalis have been done at the Nursery of Seed Technology Research and Development Institute, Bogor. Treatment consist of three light intensity levels and five dosages of NPK fertilizer, were arranged in 3 x 5 factorial experiment with in completely randomized design with three replications. The results showed that the light intensity 3829 - 3838 lux (30 percent) with 3 grains ( 0.15 g) NPK fertilizer/seedling affected to heihgt increament. The same light intensity without NPK fertilizer affected to diameter increament. Light intensity 3829 - 3838 lux (30 percent) with whole NPK fertilizer dosage affected to index of seedling quality.
