Daya simpan benih Jabon (Anthocephalus cadamba) pada berbagai ruang dan wadah simpan
The Storability of Jabon (A. cadamba) seeds will affect the physical and physiological quality of the seeds as planting material for propagation. There will be longer time from seed collection to planting that depends on the seed quality. The factors that involved in decreasing the seed quality such as moisture content and the cange of chemical composition (Biochemistry). The use of the appropriate room storage and container will control the relative humidity (RH) and temperature, and keep the seed respiration in the best way regarding to the seed quality. Completely random design in a factorial pattern was implemented in this trial experiment involving the following factors, i.e. : types of containers (e.g. plastic bag, aluminium can, cotton bag) and room storage (ambient room, airconditioned room, refrigerator). The viabilitay of the seed was tested at the end of 3-month intervals for 9-months. Each of the experiment units was allocated for 4 replications (for the germination test, and 2 replicaations for the moisture content. Each of the four replications contained 0,1 gram, while each of the two replicaaations weighed 0,5 g. The best container and room storage in this research were plastic bag and refrigerator in which the everage of amount of seedling was 1328.75 per 0.1 g and the moisture content was 7.41 percent for 9 months.
