Faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan program Hutan Kemasyarakatan di Kalimantan Selatan

Community paraticipation on forest management has been widely applied in many prgrammes. One of them is community forest program. Community forest model depends on community's characteristics, forest conditions and environment. In South Kalimantan, community forest development has been oriented to rehabilitate degraded forest land area through developing forest plantation. In fact, developing forest plantation under community forest was not succeed becouse there was less than 30 percent forest stands existed. Therefore, it is very important to undertake a research in order to find the factors that influence to developing community forest succesfully. This research is conducted in Tiwingan Baru Village and Bunglay Village, both village located on sub-district Banjar, South Kalimantan. Combination SWOT Analysis and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used in this study. Elements of strength, weakness, opportunity and threat factors that influenced forest community are discussed. Each factors contained four aspects, namely management, social, economic and environmental aspects. There were several strategic alternatives on establishing and developing forest community in South Kalimantan. The strategic alternatives priority starts on management aspect, social aspects, economical aspects and environmental aspects.
