Ragam jenis dan habitat burung migran di Kabupaten Kupang - Nusa Tenggara Timur

The flora identification and the habitat study of migration birds are an important parameter to determine their management and conservation policy. Birds have its own habitat and preferredflora depends on their need. Birds will migrate for the unsuitable current habitat. This research was aimed to obtain information of the migration bird species in East Nusa Tenggara area and their preferred habitat characteristics in order to recommend a protection area as migration bird habitat. Research used the point count and line transect method. Thirteen species of migration birds found in The Natural Tourism Park area of Menipo Island, 19 species found in the Pariti coastal region of Tourism Sea Park in TeJuk Kupang and II species found in the coastal region of Tuadale Lake Wildlife Reserve. The field observation showed only a small number of migration birds use a specific flora in their daily activities. The main activity of migration birds are flying, searching food and reproduction. Most of the birds found their food in the coastal region, in the water and on the land as well.
