Dampak pembalakan terhadap jumlah jenis tumbuhan berkayu yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Mooi di kampung Maibo, Sorong

The research is to investigate logging impact on vegetation diversity and woody plant composition which used by Mooi tribe in traditional way. This research was took place on concession area of PT Intimpura Co. Sorong that still include in Mooi tribe traditional area from Maibo village. Observations were taken over the combination of plot sampling and continuous strip sampling. The measure of the observation plot was 50 x 20 m2 for poles and for saplings 25 x 4 m2 and 50 x 20 m2. Ethno botanic aspect is observed by using single (key informant) and group discussion technique. The result showed that the vegetation diversity in logged over is higher than virgin forest but the composition is dominated by non-commercial (non- economics) pioneer species. The logging impact on the vegetation diversity becomes not very important because the vegetation is still in the undisturbed habitat. The impact on the woody plant species used by Mooi tribe become not important either even looked to increase the useful total species.
