Penyusunan model penaksiran volume Meranti (Shorea spp.) menggunakan metode Backward Elimination
This study was conducted to determine volume equation model representing a relationship between volume and independent variables of trees. To select the best regression equation dimension of trees backward elimination procedure was used. Dimension of trees such as diameter (D), height at clear butt (Tbc) were utilized. It was differentiable between trees with and without buttresses. With respect to volume equation, there was no difference between trees with and without buttress. as long as the trees with no buttresses diameter was utilized and the one were buttresses diameter was measured at 20 cm above tree buttresses. Then the volume equation found was Y = -3,0838 + 0.000704574 D2 + 0,0037 Tbc*D.
