Keragaman jenis ular di sekitar hutan wisata Gunung Meja, Manokwari, Papua

The species diversity of snake study around Recreation Forest of Gunung Meja, Manokwari Papua, conducted during 10 months (August 2002 - May 2003). The object of research observed with descriptive method, and identification of the captured snake through morphology differentiation each animals sample. Result documentation show there are at least nine snake species from three family of relatives which have been identified and two snake type which not yet been identified. Species diversity and snake population in Recreation Forest of Gunung Meja become very threatened by opening and exploitation of forest caused by the opening of accessing into and out of area, its situation about on directly contact with settlement, offices and public utilities, and also opening and exploitation of forest.
