Perburuan Penyu di kawasan Taman Nasional Teluk Cenderawasih : Suatu kajian sosial ekonomi masyarakat

Turtle represent one of the scarce animal which protected and classified in Appendix I Convention CITES where this animal is assumed to represent animal with destruction storey, level which is very feel concerned about is so that needed by an effort of is continuation of intensive turtle. Condition of social economic of society in National Park area of Teluk Cenderawasih as traditional society and mqjority have profession to as fisherman and garden and have interaction to directly with natural resource (sea) partake to influence continuity of this animal. This research try to describe of is condition of economic social of the fisherman society and it's to turtle animal, so that expected can become information materials utilize management of area here in after. The result of research showed that 65.38 percent of responder will exploit this animal if met to pass by quickly or trap fisherman net in sea or when laying egg at its egg habitat is. While the rest (34.62 percent of responder) will release and let free turtle animal. Exploiting of turtle shares by society still limited to accomplishment of requirement of food (protein) especially flesh and its egg, especially at the (time) of activity look for marine product with old accumulation look for mean 6.65 day per month.
