Kajian Zonasi Taman Nasional Gunung Halimum sebagai sistem perlindungan kawasan dan pengembangan Agro dan Ekowisata

Mount Halimun National Park (MHNP) is managed based on a zonation system which includes core, wilderness, intensif use and buffer zones. The problem of zonation in some national parks has not been properly applicated due to the pressure of local community. This pressure is a result from high dependency of local people's life on forest resources. A study on the zonation of MHNP was conducted to determine wether the zonation has been applicated properly. Determination was done based on parameters found in the Goverment Regulation No. 68. The result showed that the species found in forest around Kampung Garung and Hanjawar is pinus (Pinus merkusii) with low species diversity of bird species. Bird density for Kp. Garung: 0,0011 per ha, whereas in Kp. Hanjawar 0,0013 per ha. The conditions of social, economy, culture and institution of communities in such villages did not support forest conservation measures. These two villages, where encroaching communities live, are located in core zone. So, the zone of this area, therefore, should be changed from core zone to the traditional use zone and the forest plantation of pinus would be changed from a part of core zone to the rehabilitation zone. In forest adjacent to Cikaniki, flora and bird species diversity were 59 and 15 respectively, whereas bird density was 0,1050 per ha. In the wildernes zone around Ciptarasa and Ciptagelar villages, flora species diversity was 126 and bird density was 0,1165 per ha. The conditions of social, economy, and culture supported the forest conservation measures. The development of agro and ecotourism in MHNP could utilize the beautiful nature in forest areas (e.g. waterfalls), tea plantation of Nirmala, and local people culture (e.g. the ceremony of seren taun). It is recomended that the core zone where Piit waterfall and Walet waterfall are located is changed to semi intensive zone.
