Dampak pengunjung terhadap sifat fisik tanah di Taman Wisata Alam Tangkuban Perahu, Jawa Barat
Touristic sector is one of the important sectors for the modern human community. This sector, most of the time has been considered as economic activity that can increase the country devisa. In the more local scope this activity is determined as a source of local original income (Pendapatan Asli Daerah). However the tourist activities, especially that related to the natural resources, cause increasing pressure to the natural resources such as to lands and soils, and to the biodiversity of flora and fauna, if the management of the touristic area is not apropriately. Tangkuban Parahu Natural Recreation Park is one of the recreation park with high number of visitors every year, so that it give several impacts on soils, especially in area near by the recreation facilities. One of the impact on soil is soil compaction, as indicated in soil surface in some unvegetated spots. Soil compaction causes increasing in bulk density and decreasing soil porosity and soil permeability. Decreasing soil porosity and soil permeability caused decreasing in soil carrying capacity to the environment. If visitors impact such as soil compaction did not considered as negative impact, the nature beauty quality of green area will decrease because the unvegetated spots will increase. Beside that, the water permeability to soil will also decrease, means that run off will increase and it can cause flooding in downstream areas.
