Kajian bentuk dan ukuran plot yang optimal dalam inventarisasi hutan tanaman Acacia mangium
The accuracy data in forest inventory is the key to get a sustainability of the plantation forest utilization and yield. To increase the standing stock data accuracy of plantation forest should be have a specific inventory method, covering an optimum form and size, and also its sampling intensity. This research was aimed to get the accuracy and the optimum of forest inventory method in Acacia mangium stand particularly, such as a form and size of the sampling plot including the sampling intensity in accordance with its character and stand condition. The forms that were used on this research were rectangle and circle in four measurements. The 0.1 ha, 0.05 ha, 0.025 ha, and 0.01 ha wide of plots comparatively used to analyze sampling intensities. The optimum inventory method based on sampling error value, which is no more than 20 percent. Some parameters were analyzed to deal with the aimed of this research, a number of trees and clearbole volume. The result showed that the circle plot was more accurate than the rectangle. Moreover, the maximum size of plot that recommended to be used for an inventory method was 0,05 ha wide or in around radius 12.6 meter. By sampling intensities 5 percent, this plot was seem sufficient to reach its accuracy. Sampling error was about 14,38 percent for parameter a number of trees and 18,50 percent of parameter clearbole volume. This method was recommended to apply in Acacia mangium plantation forest.
