Model pendugaan volume ppohon Acacia mangium Willd di P.T. Inhutani II, Kalimantan Selatan
The tree volume table was assessed to the accuracy estimation of standing tree volume of Acacia mangium in logging concession area of PT. Inhutani II, South Kalimantan. For this purpose, 50 sample trees were purposively selected and measured to develop the table. The model of regression equations that were used in constructing the volume tables are, as follows: 3. V = a Db or log V = log a + b log D, 4.V = a Db Tc or log V = log a + b log D + c log T, Where V = the tree volume (in m3), D = stem diameter on the breast height (in cm), T = the total height or the clearbole height (in m) and a, b and c = the constanta. The regression equations used stem diameter and height of total or height of clearbole selected data as independent variables in total volume estimation. Clearbole volume and tree volume up to 5 cm diameter, both measured outside and inside bark. Based on statistic analysis, the accuracy between equations with single independent variable (diameter) and double independent variable (diameter and height) were not significantly different. By considering the practical and accuracy factors, the regression equation with single independent variable should be chosen to estimate the tree volume of Acacia mangium, although the more accurate prediction of volume will be obtained if both stem diameter and height are applied to estimate the volume.
