Model penduga isi pohon bebas cabang jenis sungkai (Peronema canescens Jack) di KPH Banten
Two equations have been computed to assess the clearbole volume of sungkai (Peronema canescens Jack.) present in the stands of the Banten Forest District. These equations constructed by regression analysis either from the diameter or both diameter and height combined based on 52 trees sample. There are two kinds of volume tables of sungkai resulted: 1) the volume table constructed based on the single entry equations giving the relationship between the volume and diameter, it is called 'tariff', 2) the volume table constructed based on the double entry equations giving the volume derived from the diameter and height, it is called 'standard volume table'. The equations with two variables (diameter and height) enable a better accuracy in the assessment of the tree volume but its major drawback is the difficulty to measure easily and with accuracy the height of the trees in the field.
