The seed was brown young with a little soft hair. = Pulai (Alstonia spp.) merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman yang mempunyai nilai ekonomi tinggi. Pulai sangat prospektif untuk dikembangkan dalam pembangunan hutan tanaman karena kegunaan kayu pulai cukup banyak dan saat ini permintaannya cukup tinggi. Kegunaan kayu pulai antara lain untuk pembuatan peti, korek api, hak sepatu, kerajinan seperti wayang golek dan topeng, cetakan beton, pensil slate, dan pulp. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan antara pulai darat, pulai rawa dan pulai gading di beberapa lokasi. Pulai darat mempunyai bentuk daun yang agak kecil, warna kulit batang hitam Bunga berwarna hijau kekuningan dengan bunga yang bergerombol setiap tangkainya. Polong yang lebih pendek rata-rata 30 cm. Warna benih hitam dengan sedikit rambut-rambut halus. Pulai rawa mempunyai bentuk daun yang lebar dengan ujung bulat. Warna kulit putih kehitaman. Bunga berwarna putih dengan jumlah mahkota 4-5 buah. Panjang polong rata-rata 40 cm. Benih berwarna coklat muda dengan banyak rambut-rambut halus. Pulai gading mempunyai bentuk daun yang lebih lebar dengan ujung yang lancip, warna kulit batang putih, bunga berwama hijau kekuningan dengan jumlah gerombol yang lebih sedikit serta polongnya lebih panjang dengan rata-rata panjang 50 cm. Benih berwarna coklat muda dengan sedikit rambut-rambut halus.
