Pendugaan Stok Karbon Kelompok Jenis Tegakan Berdasarkan Tipe Potensi Hutan Di Kawasan Hutan Lindung Sungai Wain = Estimating Carbon Stock of Stand Species Group Based on Forest Potential Type in Sungai Wain Protected Forest

ABSTRACT. Sungai Wain protected forest region has great potential in storing carbon stocks, compared to secondary forest areas and other use areas around the Sungai Wain protected forest because in that area has been a disruption of the forest and vegetation. These disorders can cause a decrease in the potential of biomass which is of direct indication of the ability of the area within the store carbon. The purpose of this research is to be one of the effort to provide additional information about the potential for carbon stock of reserve stand species group which is stored in the Sungai Wain protected forest based on the potential type of forest. This research using landsat imagery as the interpretation of the potential biomass, while the comparison or control is used as a method of checking the field by creating the sample plots measuring 30 m x 30 m on each potential type of forest with 3 replicates every location, then the data is processed by the relevant allometric equation. Sungai Wain protected forest region based on the potential type of forest carbon reserve of 39,88 tons C ha-1. Based on the species of stands group dipterocarp have carbon reserves ranged from 0.91 to 3.91 tons C ha-1, while in the non dipterocarp ranged from 10.37 to 12.37 tons C ha-1.

ABSTRAK. Kawasan hutan lindung Sungai Wain memiliki potensi yang sangat besar dalam menyimpan cadangan karbon, dibandingkan kawasan hutan sekunder maupun kawasan penggunaan lain di sekitar kawasan hutan lindung Sungai Wain karena pada kawasan tersebut telah terjadi gangguan terhadap tegakan dan vegetasinya. Gangguan tersebut dapat menyebabkan menurunnya potensi biomassa yang berindikasi langsung terhadap kemampuan kawasan tersebut dalam menyimpan karbon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah sebagai salah satu upaya untuk memberikan tambahan informasi mengenai potensi cadangan stok karbon kelompok jenis tegakan yang tersimpan di kawasan hutan lindung Sungai Wain berdasarkan tipe potensi hutannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan citra landsat sebagai penafsiran potensi biomassa, sedangkan sebagai pembanding atau kontrol digunakan metode pengecekan lapangan dengan membuat plot-plot sampel berukuran 30 m x 30 m pada setiap tipe potensi hutan dengan 3 ulangan tiap lokasi, kemudian data diolah dengan persamaan allometrik yang relevan. Kawasan hutan lindung Sungai Wain berdasarkan tipe potensi hutan memiliki cadangan karbon sebesar 39,88 ton C/ha. Berdasarkan kelompok jenis tegakan dipterokarpa memiliki cadangan karbon berkisar antara 0,94 - 3,91 ton C/ha, sedangkan pada non dipterokarpa berkisar antara 10,37 - 12,37 ton C/ha.
