Uji penanaman acacia mangium asal kebun benih parungpanjang di beberapa lokasi di jawa barat = Planting Trial of Acacia mangium from Parungpanjang Seed Orchard at Several Locations in West Java
Seed source could determine seed's genetic quality recommended also where the seeds are the best used. To determine the most appropriate seed zone, a planting trial is usually carried out. The objective of this research was to test the performance of A. mangium stand originated from Parungpanjang seed orchard and to analyze the stand productivity of several planting spacing at 4 locations in West Java. i.e. BKPH Tenjo and Maribaya, BKPH Gunung Kencana Selatan, and BKPH Cibenda. The design was arranged using randomized complete block design with planting spacing as treatment. In BKPH Tenjo, there were 2 spacing treatments (3 m x 3 m, 4 m x 4 m), while in BKPH Maribaya 3 spacing treatments (2 m x 3 m, 3 m x 3 m, 4 m x 4 m) were used in two replications. In addition, in BKPH Cibenda , 3 spacing treatments. i.e. 3 m x 3 m, 3 m x 4 m, 3 m x 5m, with 3 replications. In BKPH Gunung Kencana, the experiment was arranged according to split plot design with two spacing (3 m x 3 m, 4 m x 4 m) planted in
3 blocks and planting materials were from two seed sources (local and Parungpanjang seed sources). The results showed that A. mangium productivity from Parungpanjang seed orchard in four locations was influenced by site conditions. Seeds from selected seed sources were relatively better than that of local sources. The most productive stand was observed in BKPH Gunung kencana i.e. 15.8 m height;
17 cm diameter with average volume increment of 54 m3/ha/year (28.6% better from local seed). It is concluded that seed orchard in Parungpanjang may be used as seed source for plantation in West Java, especially in the similar site conditions. To increase the growth especially diameter, wider tree spacing could be considered.

Parungpanjang, dan untuk mengetahui produktivitas tegakan pada beberapa jarak tanam di 4 lokasi di Jawa Barat yaitu di BKPH Tenjo, BKPH Maribaya, BKPH Gunung Kencana Selatan, dan BKPH Cibenda. Penelitian ini dibangun dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap berblok dengan menggunakan jarak tanam sebagai perlakuan. Lokasi BKPH Tenjo menggunakan 2 jarak tanam (3 m x
3 m, 4 m x 4 m) yang diulang 2 kali. Lokasi BKPH Maribaya menggunakan 3 jarak tanam (2 m x 3 m, 3 m x 3 m, 4 m x 4 m) yang diulang sebanyak 2 kali. Lokasi BKPH Cibenda digunakan jarak tanam 3 m x 3 m,
3 m x 4 m, 3 m x 5 m yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Khusus di lokasi BKPH Gunung Kencana digunakan rancangan petak terbagi dengan 2 jarak tanam (3 m x 3 m, 4 m x 4 m) yang ditanam pada 3 blok dan menggunakan 2 asal sumber benih (lokal dan kebun benih Parungpanjang). Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa produktivitas tanaman A. mangium asal kebun benih Parungpanjang di empat lokasi yang diujikan bervariasi yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi tapak dan iklim setempat. Namun bila
dibandingkan dengan benih lokal, benih asal kebun benih tersebut relatif lebih unggul. Produktivitas
